South People's Projects
![]() SoPPro is a UK based registered charity, set up by Congolese with the vision of delivering projects for the Congolese and francophone African diaspora (asylum seekers, refugees and migrants) by learning from the British culture of volunteering. We are in the beginning of a community link project between Wales and Mai-Ndombe, between the city of Newport and Bokoro in the West of Congo. We would like to assist rural community to reach one of the Millenium Development Goals. We are delivering the Congo-Wales Roots and Routes project, granted by Heritage Lottery Fund. The project aim is to link the Congolese community living in Wales with Wales, via Congolese historical links with Wales via Henry Morton Stanley and the Congo Boys of Cardiff stories.
